Frequently Asked Questions

I'm a native English speaker. Why would I need an editor?

Being a native English speaker doesn't mean that your writing can't benefit from editing. A skilled editor can help you improve the readability, flow and structure of your paper, book or thesis, ensure consistency and adherence to any style guide, and eliminate mistakes.

This enables you to focus on your argument, without having to spend hours polishing the English.

What subjects do you specialize in?

Everything, basically.

We have a team of freelance editors who specialize in various subjects and fields. When you submit your document for editing, we distribute it to the editor who is best suited to that topic.

Can I see a sample of your work?

Of course! Here are some links to edits we have done previously. Samples 1 and 2 are for general social sciences, while samples 3 and 4 are for more technical scientific subjects.

Sample 1 - Social science (Environmental Studies)

Sample 2 - Social science (Religious Studies)

Sample 3 - Scientific (Electronics)

Sample 4 - Scientific (Biology)

If you would like to see a sample from a different field, please don't hesitate to contact us, at jamesedits@gmail.com. We are also very happy to do a free sample edit of your work.

Do you offer any kind of guarantee?

Yes. If you are not satisfied with the work, there is no charge. We are very confident about our editing ability and we put our money where our mouth is. As mentioned below, invoices are only sent once you are satisfied with the editing work.

Can you edit my entire thesis/book?

Absolutely. We have edited dozens of theses and books, in a range of fields. Please provide us with as much time as you can, although we will do our very best to meet any deadline you might have.

Do you offer any discounts?

We can offer discounted rates for large projects. Also, if you refer a colleague/associate who subsequently becomes a client of ours, we can offer you a discount on the next job you send through.

How does the payment process work?

Payment can be made by PayPal or via a bank transfer. Most clients simply forward the invoice to their university's account department to pay by bank transfer, in order to keep things simple.

We will only send an invoice once you are satisfied with the work. Unlike other agencies, we do not require any deposit or up-front payment.
